GARY CHUMNEY
Drums

Alabama native Gary Chumney has been a lifelong fan of country music.  Gary’s primary instrument is drum set/percussion, but he plays many others including piano, guitar, banjo, harmonica and bass guitar to name a few.

Music truly became Gary’s passion when at the age of 12 he performed with Alabama’s own Jeff Cook at the “Castaway Club” in Gadsden, AL.  In high school, he was a frequent member of all-state bands and then attended Jacksonville State University on a full music scholarship.  After studying at JSU, Gary went on the road with folk-rock fusion act “Ethan and the Ewox.”

In 2002, Gary played with multi-platinum recording group “Days of the New.”  After relocating to Atlanta in 2004, he was a founding member of the southern rock group “Reluctant Saints.” Since then, Gary has also played with the tribute band “Red Zeppelin” and with Collective Soul’s “Will Turpin & the Way.”

Gary is thrilled to get back to the “music of his childhood,” and bring the songs of Alabama to audiences around the country.
